Timeline
I have to apologize for all the political stuff. It must be this whole Obama train I'm on. Hopefully, after the Primaries I'll be back to normal. It's tougher, now that I'm looking for a full time job and campaign at the same time.
Keith always cracks me up with his direct assault on the Bush Administration. The Iraq war has always and will always be a big reason for me to be angry at current politics. It's something I did not want when it was first brought up, and it's something I cannot grasp why our government lets it keep going.
Coming from Vietnam, I've have heard about war. Seen family members that have long memories about the war. I have personally seen what war does to a country that just wanted to grow on its own. I'm not naive about the US. We have built our country through wars and have matured through generations of battles. It's just that I had hope my generation learned something from Vietnam, or Korea, or Somalia. Those were wars that should not have begun.
My brother has always been proud to be in the Marines, and has always known that in the event of a war, he's gonna be the first ones in. We accepted it in Desert Storm, and we accepted it during his first tour in this war. It pains me to hear that he's forced to leave again, and there would be no end in sight.
So those are my personal thoughts and feelings on the war, I have much more but always feel I need to wrap it up. Why I want the next president to know that it's not always the only choice to resolve something, and that we as a nation need to be a leader again in the world. Not its police.
