I just oppose a dumb war
Obama's 2002 speech against the war.
I have to say that I'm very impress with how he delivered the message. In 2004, my biggest point when talking to others was about the war and why they should take down the Bush Administration. I tried to make points about its affect on our economy, the way the world will treat us, and the lives it's costing and will cost. Some people understood, some people got the point only after I would reluctantly brought up my brother (who at the time was on his 2nd tour in 2 years), while most dismissed it as political.
My problem was that I could never deliver the message right. I would get too emotional and passionate, and my message was lost in delivery.
Barack's speech was perfect. It let you know that the option of war was not what he (or I) objected, but the reasoning was. The costs of war needed to be heavily weighed, but were not.
It's a shame, since these last few months I have felt more ready to discuss my politics and feel that I could portray the message I've always wanted to give before.
